Paul's Landscape Shots
|
| I took this picture in Spring 2005 at my then-home, an apartment complex in Gainesville. It is still interesting to me that of all the units in the complex, the secluded units with a view of the lake were no more in demand than the concentrated units with a view of concrete and other units. If I walked 100 feet away from my door, this is what I saw...Not too shabby for $550/month. The only thing I did was Photoshop out some high tension power lines. |
| This is a photo of the Fox tower in Flowery Branch. Although you really can't ascertain the size from this photo, this tower is 1,760 feet tall (that's one-third of a mile)! The Fox tower transmits WSRV-Gainesville (971 The River) and WBTS-Doraville (955 The Beat) in addition to other broadcast stations. The land around this tower is awesome but it's quickly being developed. |
| Ahh, yes. It's the beautiful Wilshire Trails. This is a great place to take a jog or bring a date. When I ran cross country in Gainesville High School we frequently ventured over to this park because it's really close by. This shot is also from 2005. It's my speculation that places like this will soon be the only refuge from big city life in Gainesville since it seems like the whole place is being deforrested for more houses and businesses. |
